課程概述 |
這門課將粗分為兩部分。第一部分是介紹相對論下的時空。課程從簡單的(古典)時空出發，一步步介紹到相對論的時空，以期對後者有清晰的瞭解。第二部分是探討相對論時空下的各種時間理論。具體來說，在狹義相對論下，絕對同時性不存在，那麼能有一個所謂的“現在”嗎？課程將會探討不同的理論如何處理這個問題。課程最後將探討有沒有可能宇宙在根本上是沒有時間的？
修課者不需具備大學以上的物理學或數學背景。 |

課程目標 |
本課程的主要目標是建立對相對論時空的基本認識，並學習如何分析和評價相關的時間理論，以及發展與構思自己的想法。為了達成這些目標，本課程將非常依賴課堂討論，報告，和寫作。 |

課程要求 |
Each student is expected to read the assignments before class, attend every class, and participate in in-class discussions. Essays should focus on showing your own philosophical assessment and argument about a given view. |
